  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

For the Sticky Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional for extra stickiness)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)

For the Bowls:

  • Cooked rice
  • Green onions, sliced for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Cut the boneless chicken into small, even pieces ensuring uniform cooking.
  2. Heat Oil and Cook Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a medium skillet over medium heat, then add the chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned on all sides.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for a few seconds until fragrant but not burnt.
  4. Mix Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon brown sugar (if using), 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon chili flakes (if desired); mix well.
  5. Add Sauce to Chicken: Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
  6. Simmer Sauce: Let the chicken and sauce mixture simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky, coating the chicken pieces evenly.
  7. Assemble Bowls: Spoon warm cooked rice into serving bowls, top with the sticky chicken mixture, then garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch.

  • Brown sugar is optional; omit or reduce for less sweetness.
  • Adjust chili flakes to your preferred heat level.
  • Broccoli can be added steamed or stir-fried as a vegetable complement.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
