Level up your snack game with these Savory Puff Shell Sliders—a Gen Z-inspired, ultra-cute take on puff pastry bites. These golden shell-shaped pastries are filled with a creamy avocado tuna salad and topped with hard-boiled egg slices. Delicious, aesthetic, and social media-ready, they’re perfect for brunches, picnics, and TikTok-worthy bento boxes!

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)

  • 1 avocado, mashed

  • 1 can tuna, drained

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, sliced

  • Optional: microgreens, sesame seeds, chili flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Lightly roll out the puff pastry and cut into shell shapes using a scallop cutter or freehand. Cut in pairs.

  3. Score the top pastry pieces with shallow ridges to mimic shell lines.

  4. Place bottom pastry shapes on the tray, brush edges with water, and top with matching ridged pieces. Lightly seal the edges.

  5. Brush with egg wash and bake for 15–18 minutes or until puffed and golden. Allow to cool slightly.

  6. In a bowl, mix mashed avocado, tuna, mayonnaise or Greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

  7. Slice puff shells horizontally and fill with a spoonful of the tuna-avocado mixture. Top with a hard-boiled egg slice.

  8. Garnish with chili flakes, sesame seeds, or microgreens if desired.

  9. Serve immediately or pack in bento boxes for on-the-go flair.

Notes

  • Use flavored tuna (e.g., lemon pepper or spicy) for variety.

  • These sliders can be made ahead and filled right before serving to maintain crispness.

  • Perfect for entertaining, meal-prep lunches, or viral foodie posts!
