2 crusty sandwich rolls or baguette
4oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
4oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
A handful of fresh arugula or spinach
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat a pan or skillet over medium heat. Slice the sandwich rolls or baguette in half.
Lightly drizzle the inside of each slice with olive oil and place them in the pan, cut side down. Toast until golden brown and crispy.
Once toasted, remove from the pan and drizzle a little balsamic vinegar on the bottom half (optional).
Layer the prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and arugula or spinach inside the toasted bread.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, then top with the other slice of bread.
Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately, enjoying the blend of flavors.
Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, you can add a drizzle of olive tapenade or sun-dried tomatoes.
Feel free to substitute the arugula or spinach with mixed greens or your favorite leafy greens.
If you prefer a stronger flavor, you can use aged balsamic vinegar or a balsamic glaze.
