  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Glaze

  • 1 cup ketchup (divided) (Half for baking, half for glazing.)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (Adds caramelized sweetness.)
  • 1 tbsp mustard (Brightens the glaze.)

Instructions

  1. Preparation Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or a loaf pan.
  2. Mix Ingredients In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently by hand or spoon.
  3. Shape Loaf Shape the mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet or in the loaf pan, ensuring the top is smooth but not tightly packed.
  4. Baking Mix 1/2 cup of ketchup with the brown sugar and mustard until glossy and smooth.
  5. First Bake Spread half the glaze over the loaf and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Glaze and Finish Baking Brush on the remaining glaze and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
