A hearty and comforting English breakfast with scrambled eggs, grilled sausages, crispy bacon, baked beans, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomato, and toasted bread, perfect for starting the day with a full stomach.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the breakfast:
  • 2 sausages (your choice of pork or chicken)
  • 2 strips bacon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup baked beans
  • 1 tomato, halved
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 slices of bread (for toasting)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • HP Sauce or your favorite condiment (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausages: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausages, turning occasionally, for about 8-10 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  2. Grill the bacon: In the same skillet, add the bacon and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the mushrooms and tomato: In the same skillet, add a little olive oil and sauté the sliced mushrooms until softened, about 4-5 minutes. Add the tomato halves to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly charred.
  4. Scramble the eggs: Whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper. In a separate pan, melt a little butter and scramble the eggs until fluffy and cooked to your preference.
  5. Heat the baked beans: In a small saucepan, heat the baked beans over low heat until warmed through.
  6. Toast the bread: While everything is cooking, toast the slices of bread until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the breakfast: Place the sausages, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomato, scrambled eggs, and baked beans on a plate. Add a slice of toasted bread on the side.
  8. Serve with HP sauce or any condiments of your choice, and enjoy your traditional English breakfast.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can swap the pork sausage for a turkey sausage or omit the bacon.
  • Feel free to add some sautéed spinach or grilled asparagus to make the meal even more nutritious.
  • To make this breakfast even faster, you can use pre-cooked sausage and bacon.
