Main Ingredients

  • 12-count Hawaiian rolls, split horizontally
  • 8 ounces deli turkey, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces deli ham, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese (or provolone as alternative)
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted (unsalted preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • Black pepper, freshly ground, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally into top and bottom halves, keeping them together as a slab.
  3. Cook Bacon: Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Arrange Bottom: Place the bottom half of the rolls in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  5. Layer Meats: Layer evenly with deli turkey, then ham, followed by the chopped bacon.
  6. Add Cheese: Add Swiss cheese slices over the meats, then cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Top Rolls: Place the top half of the rolls back over the stacked ingredients and press gently.
  8. Make Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  9. Brush Mixture: Brush the butter mixture evenly over the top of the rolls.
  10. Sprinkle Seeds: Sprinkle poppy seeds evenly over the buttered tops.
  11. Cover and Bake: Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  12. Bake: Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes to crisp the tops.
  13. Cool: Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes.
  14. Slice and Serve: Slice the slab into 12 individual sliders and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use unsalted butter preferred for better control of salt.
  • Swiss cheese can be substituted with provolone.
  • Cook bacon until crisp for maximum texture.
  • Let sliders cool slightly before slicing to keep layers intact.
