A quick and flavorful Trio of Asian Dipping Sauces featuring a sweet Honey Sesame Sauce, a spicy Soy Sauce, and a creamy Savory Peanut Sauce, perfect for spring rolls, dumplings, or grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale

Honey Sesame Sauce

  • ½ cup (68 grams) honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup (59 grams) low sodium soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Spicy Soy Sauce

  • ½ cup (118 ml) low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 teaspoons chili sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Chopped scallion/spring onion for garnish
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Savory Peanut Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • ¾ cup (102 grams) peanut butter, smooth or chunky
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • Warm water (to thin the sauce as needed, about 2 tablespoons)
  • Chopped peanuts for garnish (optional if using chunky peanut butter)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Honey Sesame Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine the honey, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, and soy sauce. Whisk thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and fully blended. Pour the sauce into a serving bowl and top with grated fresh ginger and toasted sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
  2. Prepare Spicy Soy Sauce: In another small bowl, combine low sodium soy sauce, chili sauce, and honey. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and evenly mixed. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped scallions (spring onions) and toasted sesame seeds to enhance the presentation and taste.
  3. Prepare Savory Peanut Sauce: In a third small mixing bowl, add hoisin sauce, peanut butter, and soy sauce. Add around 2 tablespoons of warm water to help thin the sauce; add more water if necessary until the consistency is smooth and pourable. Whisk the ingredients until uniform and creamy. Pour into a serving bowl and garnish with chopped peanuts, if desired, especially if smooth peanut butter is used.

Notes

  • Adjust chili sauce quantity in the spicy soy sauce to control heat level.
  • Use low sodium soy sauce to keep salt levels moderate and allow other flavors to shine.
  • The peanut sauce can be thinned further with warm water to reach the desired consistency.
  • These sauces are versatile and perfect for dipping dumplings, spring rolls, grilled meats, or drizzling over salads.
  • Store any leftover sauces in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to one week.
