Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking or brushing)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped vegetables, onion, garlic, herbs, breadcrumbs, and egg.
  2. Add paprika, cumin, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into evenly sized round patties and use a fork to press ridges for texture and even cooking.
  4. To cook immediately: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. To freeze: Layer patties between parchment paper and store in a freezer-safe container.
  6. Serve warm with flatbread, dips, or use in sandwiches.

Notes

  • Use gloves or wet hands to shape patties easily and avoid sticking.
  • You can bake the patties at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • These patties are great for meal prep and can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Adjust spice levels to taste, especially if serving to kids.
