Ingredients

  • 4 large turkey wings, separated at the joints

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Season the turkey wings with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the turkey wings on all sides until golden brown. Transfer them to a large baking dish.

  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Sauté until softened.

  5. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce until a smooth gravy forms.

  6. Pour the gravy and vegetables over the turkey wings in the baking dish, ensuring they are well covered.

  7. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until the turkey is fall-off-the-bone tender.

  8. For extra browning, remove the foil for the last 20 minutes of baking.

  9. Serve hot, spooning extra gravy over the turkey.

Notes

  • For an even deeper flavor, marinate the turkey wings in the seasoning blend for a few hours before searing.

  • Add a pinch of cayenne for a little heat if desired.

  • Delicious served with mashed potatoes, rice, or cornbread to soak up all the rich gravy.
