Ingredients

  • 200 g thin slices of lightly salted smoked trout or salmon
  • 240 g ricotta cheese
  • 60 g cream cheese (Philadelphia or similar)
  • Zest and 1 tablespoon juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons capers
  • Fresh dill, chopped to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ricotta, cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped capers, and dill. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  2. Lay out the slices of smoked trout on a flat surface.
  3. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the trout slices.
  4. Carefully roll the trout slices with the filling inside to form a roulade or small logs.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Slice into bite-sized pieces or serve whole as an elegant appetizer.
