Ingredients

Scale

Eggs

  • 6 large eggs

Filling

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Coloring and Garnish

  • Red food coloring (a few drops)
  • 1 cup water for coloring
  • Fresh parsley or chives optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes to ensure hard-boiled eggs.
  2. Cool the Eggs: Drain the hot water and transfer the eggs immediately to an ice bath to stop cooking and cool completely, making peeling easier.
  3. Prepare the Egg Halves: Peel the cooled eggs carefully and slice each egg lengthwise. Remove the yolks gently and place them in a small mixing bowl.
  4. Color the Egg Whites (Optional): In a shallow bowl, mix 1 cup of water with a few drops of red food coloring. Submerge the egg whites in this mixture for 1-2 minutes until they turn a soft pink color. Remove and pat dry with a paper towel.
  5. Make the Filling: Mash the egg yolks with a fork until smooth. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to create a creamy and tangy filling.
  6. Assemble the Deviled Eggs: Transfer the yolk mixture to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a small corner cut off. Pipe the filling back into the hollowed egg whites evenly.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish each deviled egg half with fresh parsley or chives, or sprinkle with paprika if desired. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.
