A fiery and fruity hot sauce made with sweet pineapple and bold habanero peppers, balanced by garlic, honey, lime juice, and vinegar. Ideal for tacos, grilled meats, or as a vibrant dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple, chopped
  • 4 habanero peppers, stemmed and seeded
  • 1/2 cup white onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add pineapple, habaneros, onion, garlic, vinegar, and water.
  2. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10–12 minutes until vegetables are softened and flavors meld.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a blender. Add honey, lime juice, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  5. Pour into sterilized jars or bottles and refrigerate. Sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.
  6. Use within 2 weeks for best flavor and freshness.

Notes

  • Adjust the number of habaneros for more or less heat.
  • Wearing gloves while handling habaneros is recommended to avoid skin irritation.
  • For longer storage, consider water bath canning or freezing portions.
