Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 46 flour tortillas
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • Deli turkey or ham, enough to cover tortillas (approximately 100-150 g)
  • Lettuce or spinach leaves
  • Bell peppers, thinly sliced (about 1 medium pepper)

Instructions

  1. Spread Cream Cheese: Evenly spread the cream cheese over each flour tortilla, making sure to cover the entire surface right up to the edges. This layer acts as an adhesive to hold the fillings in place when rolled.
  2. Add Fillings: Arrange deli turkey or ham evenly over the cream cheese layer. Next, add a layer of lettuce or spinach leaves, followed by thin slices of bell peppers. Be careful not to overfill, as this will make rolling difficult.
  3. Roll and Chill: Tightly roll up each tortilla into a log shape, then wrap each roll securely in plastic wrap. Place them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up, making slicing easier.
  4. Slice and Serve: Remove the rolls from the fridge and unwrap. Using a sharp knife, slice each roll into 1-inch rounds to create pinwheel sandwiches. Serve chilled. Keep any leftovers refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for easier spreading.
  • Substitute deli meat with smoked salmon or roasted vegetables for variation.
  • These can be made several hours in advance and stored chilled.
  • Perfect for parties, potlucks, and picnics as a finger food appetizer.
