- 20 dumpling wrappers
- 1 cup ground pork (or chicken)
- 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp oil (for frying)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, shredded cabbage, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onions, and cornstarch until well combined.
- Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Fold and pinch the edges to seal.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Place dumplings flat-side down and fry until the bottoms turn golden brown.
- Add ¼ cup water to the pan, then cover with a lid to steam for about 5 minutes.
- Uncover the pan and let any remaining water evaporate, allowing the dumplings to crisp up again.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and extra chopped green onions.
- Serve hot with soy sauce or chili oil for dipping.
Notes
- You can use pre-made dumpling wrappers or make your own from scratch.
- For extra flavor, mix a little rice vinegar into the soy sauce for dipping.
- These dumplings can be frozen before cooking and steamed directly from frozen.
