Units Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted, optional for extra crispiness)

Instructions

Preheat & Prepare:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Sugar Coating:

  1. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon (if using).
  2. Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture onto a clean work surface.

Roll the Dough:

  1. Place the puff pastry over the sugared surface. Sprinkle the remaining sugar on top of the pastry.
  2. Use a rolling pin to lightly press the sugar into the dough.

Shape the Orejas:

  1. Fold both long edges of the dough toward the center.
  2. Fold again so both sides meet in the middle.
  3. Fold one last time to form a tight log.
  4. Slice into ½-inch pieces.

Bake & Crisp Up:

  1. Place the slices cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Lightly brush with melted butter for extra crispiness (optional).
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and caramelized.

Cool & Enjoy!

  1. Let them cool slightly before serving. Pair with coffee or hot chocolate!

Notes

  • For a richer caramelized flavor, sprinkle extra sugar before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
