Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 36 frozen tater tots
  • 6 lettuce leaves, cut into small squares
  • 12 dill pickle slices, halved
  • Mini skewers or toothpicks
  • Optional: burger sauce or ketchup for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and bake tater tots according to package directions until golden and crisp.
  2. In a bowl, season ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 12 mini patties, about 1 inch wide.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook patties for 2–3 minutes per side, until cooked through. Add shredded cheese during the last minute to melt.
  4. Assemble each skewer by threading on one tater tot, a folded piece of lettuce, a mini burger patty, a pickle slice, and another tater tot.
  5. Serve immediately with burger sauce or ketchup on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Use a melon baller or spoon to portion ground beef evenly for uniform patties.
  • Customize with cherry tomatoes or cooked bacon for variety.
  • Best served warm for optimal crispiness and cheese melt.
  • Great make-ahead tip: cook patties and tater tots in advance, then reheat and assemble before serving.
