Cool down with this irresistible mango sago dessert — a creamy, tropical treat made with fresh mango chunks, chewy sago pearls, and sweet coconut milk. This no-bake favorite is a popular Asian dessert you can easily recreate at home. Light, refreshing, and full of flavor, it’s perfect for warm days, family gatherings, or an elegant finish to your summer dinner party.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup small sago pearls

  • 2 ripe mangoes (peeled, cubed)

  • 1/2 cup mango puree (fresh or canned)

  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk

  • 1/2 cup condensed milk (or adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk or regular milk (optional for thinner consistency)

  • Ice cubes or crushed ice (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the sago: In a pot of boiling water, add sago pearls. Cook for 10–15 minutes until translucent, stirring occasionally. Turn off heat, cover, and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse with cold water and drain.

  2. Mix the base: In a large bowl, combine coconut milk, condensed milk, and mango puree. Add evaporated milk if you prefer a lighter consistency.

  3. Stir in cooked sago pearls and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  4. Serve chilled: Scoop into bowls or cups. Top with fresh mango cubes and extra mango puree or ice, if desired.

  5. Optional: Garnish with mint or toasted coconut flakes for extra flair!

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness depending on the ripeness of your mangoes.

  • For a vegan version, swap condensed milk with maple syrup or sweetened coconut condensed milk.

  • Best served cold!
