Ingredients
UnitsScale
400g falukorv (or any mild cooked sausage), sliced into strips
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 yellow onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
200ml heavy cream
100ml milk
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté for 5–7 minutes until soft and translucent.
Add the sausage strips and cook for about 5 minutes until lightly browned.
Stir in tomato paste and Dijon mustard, coating the sausage and onions evenly.
Pour in cream and milk. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper.
Simmer gently for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and flavors meld.
Adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Serve hot with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.
Notes
Falukorv is traditional, but any mild cooked sausage works well.
For a richer flavor, substitute part of the milk with more cream.
Add a pinch of paprika or chili flakes for subtle heat.
Great for meal prep—reheats beautifully the next day.
