Kafta Kebabs are flavorful Middle Eastern skewers made with ground beef or lamb mixed with herbs and warm spices, grilled until juicy and aromatic—perfect for Eid feasts, mezze platters, or wrapped in pita with tahini sauce.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Use your hands to mix thoroughly until well combined and the mixture holds together.
  2. Divide the mixture into 6–8 equal portions. Shape each portion around a skewer into a long sausage-like form.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates.
  4. Grill kebabs for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with warm pita, fresh salad, or rice, and a side of garlic sauce or tahini.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  • Use a food processor to blend the mixture evenly and improve texture.
  • Leftovers make excellent wraps or rice bowls the next day.
