Ingredients

Scale

The Beef

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 chuck for maximum juiciness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small diced onion
  • 2 tbsp Hellmann’s Mayonnaise

The Bread

  • 1 pack (12 count) King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls

The Cheese

  • 68 slices sharp cheddar or American cheese

The Glaze

  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Pinch of brown sugar

Extras

  • Sesame seeds for topping
  • Vlasic Dill Pickles for crunch

Instructions

  1. Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef along with the seasonings (salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce) and diced onion until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease to keep the sliders from becoming too oily.
  3. Mix for Juiciness: Stir 2 tablespoons of Hellmann’s Mayonnaise into the cooked beef mixture. This addition helps keep the sliders moist and juicy during baking.
  4. Prepare the Rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the entire block of King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating the individual rolls. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the greased baking dish.
  5. Assembly: Layer slices of cheese evenly over the bottom buns first. Then spread the beef mixture evenly over the cheese layer. Add another layer of cheese on top of the beef, and arrange Vlasic dill pickle slices evenly for crunch.
  6. Glaze & Bake: Place the top half of the rolls over the assembled ingredients. Brush generously with the melted butter glaze made from butter, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and gooey and the buns are golden brown.

Notes

  • Press a small dimple in individual patties to prevent puffing and shrinking if making sliders individually instead of a sheet.
  • For extra crispy bottoms, lightly toast the cut sides of the buns in a skillet before assembly.
  • If you need to keep sliders warm for a while, cover the dish with foil and keep it in a 200°F oven to maintain warmth without drying them out.
