Apple Fritter Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Apple Filling

  • 2 medium apples (peeled and diced)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter

Honey Dip Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 23 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For Frying

  • Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the apples In a small skillet, melt butter and add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for about 4–5 minutes until apples soften. Let cool.
  2. Prepare the batter In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix wet ingredients In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  4. Combine batter Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the cooked apples.
  5. Heat the oil Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F).
  6. Fry the fritters Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Drain Remove fritters and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Make honey dip glaze Whisk powdered sugar, honey, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Glaze the fritters Dip warm fritters into the glaze or drizzle the glaze over the top.
  10. Serve Let glaze set for a few minutes before serving.

  • Fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature.
