Ingredients
Scale
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
1/3 cup + 1 1/2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk (plus more as needed)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Halloween food coloring (purple, orange, green)
6 oz white melting chocolate
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a donut pan with nonstick spray and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix gently until just combined—do not overmix.
Pipe or spoon the batter into the donut wells, filling each about ¾ full.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when lightly touched.
Cool in pan for 3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
To make the glaze: In a bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Add food coloring to separate bowls and blend until vibrant and consistent.
Dip cooled donuts halfway into colored glaze. Let excess drip off, then place back on the rack to set.
To decorate: Melt white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Pour into piping bag fitted with a small round tip.
Pipe 8 lines outward from center of donut. Connect lines with curved “U” shapes to create the spiderweb pattern. Let chocolate set before serving.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter to ensure fluffy donuts.
Use a piping bag for even donut shaping.
Adjust glaze consistency by adding more milk if too thick.
Ensure donuts are completely cool before glazing and decorating.
Spiderweb piping can be practiced on parchment first.
