Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 45 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy, indicating the yeast is activated. Then add the melted butter, eggs, and salt to the bowl. Gradually incorporate the flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until it has doubled in size.
  3. Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful garlic butter spread.
  4. Shape the Rolls: After the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a 12×18 inch rectangle. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the entire surface. Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Slice the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces.
  5. Second Rise: Arrange the slices cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover them loosely and let the rolls rise for another 30 to 45 minutes until they become puffy and nearly double in size.
  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the rolls are cooked through. Allow them to cool slightly before serving to enjoy their warm and soft texture.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add grated cheese such as mozzarella or parmesan to the garlic butter filling.
  • These rolls are best served warm from the oven, but they can be stored at room temperature for up to two days in an airtight container.
