Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 long French baguette
  • 8 oz smoked salmon
  • 7 oz cream cheese (such as Arla brand)
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • Parsley or dill for garnish

Instructions

  • Slice the baguette into ⅓-inch thick slices.
  • In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, and chopped dill until smooth.
  • Spread 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture over each slice of bread.
  • Top with a piece of smoked salmon and garnish with fresh parsley or dill.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. If stacking, place plastic wrap between layers to prevent sogginess.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, brush bread slices with melted butter and toast at 350°F for 5 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • Use pumpernickel or rye bread for a richer, more traditional flavor.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a sprinkle of capers for extra zing!
