Ingredients
Scale
The Dough
1 tube Pillsbury Refrigerated Pizza Crust or Crescent Roll dough
The Filling
½ cup Prego Marinara Sauce (keep it thick to prevent leaking)
1½ cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
40–50 thin-sliced pepperonis
The Topping
2 tbsp melted butter
½ tsp Italian seasoning
Dusting of Kraft Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
Roll Out: Unroll the dough into a large rectangle. If using crescent dough, pinch the seams together firmly to seal all gaps and create one uniform sheet.
Layer: Spread a thin, even layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges to prevent spills. Then evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese followed by a layer of thin-sliced pepperoni over the sauce.
Roll & Slice: Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough log to ensure the filling stays compact. For cleaner slices, consider chilling the log in the freezer for 10 minutes before cutting. Slice into 1-inch thick rounds using a sharp serrated knife or unflavored dental floss for precise cuts.
Bake: Arrange the pinwheels cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet with slight space between each piece. Brush the tops with the melted butter seasoned with Italian seasoning and sprinkle a light dusting of Parmesan cheese.
The Finish: Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the cheese inside bubbles deliciously. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
To prevent the pinwheels from squishing when slicing, chill the rolled dough log in the freezer for 10 minutes before cutting.
For a Supreme version, add finely diced green peppers or cooked sausage to the filling.
Serve with warm marinara sauce or garlic butter dip for extra flavor.
