Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 14.3 oz package (36 cookies) Golden Oreos, crushed into crumbs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature

Coating and Decoration

  • 10 oz white candy coating
  • Additional 1 oz of white candy coating per color, for decorating
  • Gel icing colors (assorted, as desired)

Instructions

  1. Crush Cookies: Add the Golden Oreo cookies to a food processor or blender and crush into fine crumbs.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, mix the cream cheese and crushed cookie crumbs thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and can form balls easily.
  3. Shape Eggs: Using about 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mixture per piece, form egg shapes by hand to mimic Easter eggs.
  4. Chill Mixture: Place the shaped eggs on a tray and refrigerate for about 1 hour to firm up and maintain shape during coating.
  5. Coat Eggs: Melt the 10 ounces of white candy coating. Using a toothpick inserted into the bottom of each chilled egg, dip them into the melted candy coating. Allow excess coating to drip off by lightly shaking, then place the eggs on parchment paper. Carefully remove the toothpick by twisting while pulling out, and use a dab of the candy coating to fill in the hole left behind.
  6. Decorate: For each color, melt about 1 ounce of white candy coating and tint it with gel icing colors until the desired shade is achieved. Pipe or drizzle the colored coatings onto the dried candy-coated eggs to create decorative patterns. Use 3-4 ounces if using only one color for better coverage.
  7. Store: Keep the decorated Oreo eggs refrigerated. They should remain fresh for up to one week.

  • The toothpick helps with easy dipping and maintaining the egg shape during coating.
  • Different gel icing colors provide creative freedom for decorating your Easter eggs.
  • Store the finished eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • These cookie balls can be made ahead and decorated closer to the event day.
