Soft, buttery sugar cookies topped with colorful candy kisses and rolled in festive sprinkles, these Easter Blossom Cookies are a pastel-perfect treat for spring celebrations and Easter baskets.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (assorted pastel colors)
  • Sugar sprinkles or colored sugar
  • 24 pastel candy kisses or chocolate blossoms

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into separate bowls and tint each portion with desired food coloring.
  6. Scoop 1-inch balls of dough, roll in sugar sprinkles, and place on prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are just set but not browned.
  8. Immediately press a candy kiss or chocolate blossom into the center of each cookie.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

  • Use pastel candy kisses for a more festive look.
  • Be gentle when pressing in the candies to avoid cracking the cookies.
  • Cookies can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for several days.
