Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round sponge cake (or bundt cake)
  • 2 cups chocolate frosting
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional, for texture)
  • 1/2 cup candy eggs (chocolate eggs, jelly beans, or mini Easter eggs)
  • 1 small bird figurine (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cake:

1️⃣ Bake a round sponge cake or bundt cake following your favorite recipe (or use store-bought).
2️⃣ Once cooled, if using a round sponge cake, cut out a small hole in the center to create the “nest” shape.
3️⃣ If using a bundt cake, the hole in the center will naturally form the nest.

2. Frost the Cake:

1️⃣ Spread a generous layer of chocolate frosting over the entire cake.
2️⃣ For a more nest-like texture, mix shredded coconut into the frosting or sprinkle it over the top.

3. Decorate the Nest:

1️⃣ Fill the center of the cake with colorful candy eggs to resemble a bird’s nest.
2️⃣ For extra charm, place a small bird figurine on top or around the cake.

4. Serve & Enjoy:

1️⃣ Let the cake set for a few minutes before serving.
2️⃣ Slice and enjoy this whimsical Easter dessert with family and friends!

Notes

  • Cake Base Options: You can use chocolate cake, vanilla cake, or even carrot cake for a seasonal twist.
  • Texture Tip: Toast the shredded coconut for a more rustic, nest-like appearance.
  • Frosting Alternative: Swap chocolate frosting for Nutella, peanut butter frosting, or ganache for a different flavor.
