Perfect for parties or a light dessert, these bite-sized delights combine fruity freshness with a rich, tangy filling in just 18 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 12 medium to large strawberries

Filling

  • 12 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings

  • 1 tbsp graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Using a sharp paring knife, slice each strawberry in half lengthwise while keeping the stems attached for an attractive presentation.
  2. Score the Strawberries: Use the paring knife to gently score a triangle shape in the center of each strawberry half. This creates a guide and helps ease the removal of the inner flesh.
  3. Hollow the Centers: With a small spoon or melon baller, carefully scoop out a small portion of the strawberry’s center within the scored triangle to make room for the filling, taking care not to pierce through the bottom.
  4. Drain Excess Moisture: Place the hollowed strawberry halves cut side down on paper towels for a few minutes to absorb any excess liquid and prevent the filling from becoming watery.
  5. Arrange Strawberries: Position the prepared strawberry halves on a serving platter designed for deviled eggs, or any flat plate, ready for filling.
  6. Make the Filling: In a medium or large bowl, thoroughly mix the whipped cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large tip or a large resealable plastic bag with a small corner cut off for piping.
  7. Fill the Strawberries: Pipe the cream cheese mixture into the hollowed center of each strawberry half until filled generously.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs and colorful sprinkles atop each filled strawberry for a decorative and tasty finish. Serve immediately for best freshness and presentation.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are dry before filling to prevent sogginess.
  • For a dairy-free alternative, use whipped coconut cream instead of cream cheese.
  • Customize toppings with chopped nuts or shredded coconut for variety.
  • Serve chilled for the creamiest texture and fresh flavor.
