A delightful fusion of a croissant and muffin, these cinnamon-sugar cruffins are buttery, flaky, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  • Roll & Butter: Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle and brush with melted butter.
  • Cinnamon-Sugar Coating: In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the buttered pastry.
  • Shape the Cruffins: Roll the pastry tightly into a log, then slice it lengthwise to expose the layers.
  • Form & Bake: Roll each half into a spiral and place in the muffin tin. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Finishing Touch: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
  • Enjoy! Serve warm and savor the flaky, buttery goodness.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent touch, drizzle with caramel or chocolate sauce.
  • Swap cinnamon for nutmeg or cardamom for a flavor twist.
  • These cruffins taste best fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a crispy texture.
