These Fluffy Coconut Cream Buns are soft, pillowy bakery-style treats filled with a luscious vanilla coconut cream. Lightly dusted with sugar and shredded coconut, they have a tropical sweetness in every bite. Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1 egg

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough

    • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
    • Add warm milk, butter, and egg. Knead until smooth and elastic.
    • Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Shape & Bake

    • Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into oval buns.
    • Place on a baking tray, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  • Prepare the Filling

    • In a mixing bowl, whip heavy cream, coconut cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until thick and fluffy.
  • Assemble the Buns

    • Let the buns cool, then slice them open.
    • Pipe the coconut cream filling generously into each bun.
  • Coat & Serve

    • Roll each filled bun in granulated sugar and shredded coconut for a sweet, tropical finish.
    • Serve fresh and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, toast the shredded coconut before coating.
  • Add a hint of rum or coconut extract to the filling for a richer taste.
