Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 36 Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 oz melted white or dark chocolate
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies into a food processor or a sealed plastic bag and crush until they become fine crumbs, ensuring there are no large chunks left for a smooth texture.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a bowl and add the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or spatula until the mixture is smooth and uniformly combined, resembling a thick dough.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter, ensuring they are evenly shaped for consistent cooking.
  4. Chill the Balls: Place the rolled balls on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up the shape and make them easier to dip.
  5. Dip in Chocolate: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled ball into the melted white or dark chocolate, making sure it is fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  6. Add Sprinkles and Set: While the chocolate coating is still wet, add festive sprinkles on top to decorate. Then, place them back onto the parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate is completely set, about 20-30 minutes.

Notes

  • Softening the cream cheese to room temperature makes mixing much easier and smoother.
  • Use a double boiler or microwave in short bursts to gently melt the chocolate, preventing it from burning.
  • You can use either white or dark chocolate according to your preference, or even mix both for a variegated look.
  • Store the truffles in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to one week.
  • If desired, you can freeze the truffles for longer storage; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
