Units Scale

For the Pie Crust:

  • 1 store-bought or homemade 9-inch pie crust

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the bottom of the pie crust, then top with pecan halves.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the filling over the pecans and chocolate chips.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly jiggly.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely before slicing.

  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For a stronger bourbon flavor, increase to ⅓ cup bourbon.
  • Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours to allow the filling to set properly.

  • Toast the pecans beforehand for extra depth of flavor.
