Crispy, golden-fried dough balls filled with sweet cherry pie filling and topped with a vanilla glaze. These cherry pie bombs are quick, irresistible, and perfect for a sweet snack or party treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count)
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Separate biscuit dough and flatten each piece into a small circle.
  2. Spoon 1 tbsp of cherry pie filling into the center of each dough circle.
  3. Fold edges around filling and pinch tightly to seal into a ball.
  4. Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully drop 2–3 pie bombs into the oil at a time, seam side down.
  6. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk glaze ingredients until smooth.
  9. Dip or drizzle each pie bomb with glaze while still warm.

  • Ensure edges are tightly sealed to prevent filling from leaking during frying.
  • Adjust glaze thickness by varying milk quantity.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
