Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • 20 button mushrooms

Dairy

  • 150 g cream cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

Others

  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Olive oil, for sautéing
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Mushrooms: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp cloth or quickly rinsing and patting dry. Carefully remove the stems from each mushroom cap and finely chop the stems for the filling.
  2. Sauté Mushroom Stems: Heat a small amount of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped mushroom stems and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until they are soft and fragrant.
  3. Make the Filling: Transfer the sautéed mushroom stems to a mixing bowl. Add the cream cheese, grated parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the filling is smooth and well combined.
  4. Fill Mushroom Caps: Generously spoon the cheese mixture into each mushroom cap, pressing slightly to fill them completely. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in a baking dish in a single layer.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the tops are golden and bubbly.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the mushrooms from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these warm, cheesy bites as a sophisticated appetizer at your next party or holiday gathering.

Notes

  • You can substitute button mushrooms with cremini mushrooms for a deeper flavor.
  • For a stronger garlic flavor, add an extra clove or sprinkle some garlic powder into the filling.
  • If you want a crispier top, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • These mushrooms can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated; reheat in the oven before serving.
  • To make it vegetarian, ensure the parmesan cheese is vegetarian-friendly or substitute with a vegetarian hard cheese.
