These Cheesy Ham Toaster Pockets are golden and crispy on the outside, gooey and savory inside—stuffed with layers of melty cheese and thin-sliced ham, they’re the perfect quick bite for breakfast, lunch, or an indulgent snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 6 slices deli ham
  • 6 slices mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 2 tbsp butter, for toasting
  • Optional: ketchup or dipping sauce

Instructions

  1. Flatten bread slices slightly with a rolling pin.
  2. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on each slice (if using).
  3. Place 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese on each bread slice. Fold or roll tightly, sealing the edges slightly by pressing down.
  4. Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the prepared pockets seam-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use a sandwich press for extra crispiness.
  • Try different cheese and meat combos like turkey and cheddar.
  • Can be prepped ahead and grilled to order.
