These Birthday Cake Protein Donuts are a fun and healthy twist on a party favorite. Made with oat flour, vanilla protein powder, and yogurt, they’re soft, flavorful, and perfect for a high-protein treat with festive sprinkles and a creamy yogurt glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Donuts:
  • 2 scoops (60g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sprinkles
  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons cake batter extract
  • For the Glaze:
  • 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla almond milk
  • Sprinkles, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine protein powder, baking powder, salt, sprinkles, and oat flour. Whisk until well mixed.
  3. Add egg, almond milk, yogurt, and cake batter extract. Use a hand mixer on high speed to blend until smooth.
  4. Transfer the batter to a piping bag or large Ziploc bag with the tip cut off.
  5. Grease a donut pan and pipe the batter evenly into the molds.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let the donuts cool completely before glazing.
  7. In a medium bowl, whisk together the glaze ingredients: yogurt, protein powder, and almond milk. Adjust sweetener to taste if desired.
  8. Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the glaze, then top with sprinkles.

Notes

  • Let donuts cool completely before glazing to prevent glaze from melting off.
  • Use naturally colored sprinkles for a dye-free option.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Cake batter extract adds a distinct birthday cake flavor; substitute with vanilla extract if unavailable.
