Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 2 tsp garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine gochujang, garlic, honey, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and salt.
  2. Stir until the sauce is smooth and well blended.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness or heat as desired.
  4. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  5. Serve at room temperature drizzled over bibimbap bowls or as a dip or marinade.

Notes

  • Use maple syrup or agave as a substitute for honey for a vegan version.
  • Add more rice vinegar for extra tang, or a splash of soy sauce for deeper umami.
  • Let sit 10 minutes before serving to let flavors meld.
