Baked Brie en Croute with Jam is a warm, gooey, and elegant appetizer made by wrapping a wheel of brie and sweet jam in puff pastry. It’s perfect for holidays or entertaining and can be served with crackers, bread, or fruit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (about 12 ounces)
  • ⅓ cup jam (nectarine, peach, fig, or raspberry)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Flour, for dusting the work surface

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and roll the puff pastry sheet to about 11 inches square or ¼ inch thick.
  3. Place the brie cheese in the center of the pastry.
  4. Spoon the jam on top of the brie.
  5. Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the brie and pinch gently to seal.
  6. Brush the entire pastry with the beaten egg, covering all sides.
  7. Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and brush with a little more jam on top.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve with hearty bread, crackers, crostini, or fresh fruit slices.

Notes

  • Can be made ahead and frozen; bake directly from frozen with a few extra minutes added to the cook time.
  • Use your favorite jam to complement the brie flavor.
  • Let cool slightly before cutting to avoid all the cheese escaping too quickly.
