Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 6 spring roll wrappers or thin crepes
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese or hummus
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Blanch asparagus spears in boiling water for 1 minute, then transfer immediately to ice water. Pat dry.
  3. Lay out a spring roll sheet or crepe. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or hummus.
  4. Sprinkle with garlic powder and black pepper.
  5. Place 2 asparagus spears at one edge and roll tightly into a log.
  6. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  7. Brush roll ups with olive oil or butter and sprinkle sesame seeds over the tops.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp on the edges.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature as an appetizer or side.

Notes

  • Use hummus for a vegan version of the recipe.
  • Spring roll wrappers yield a crispier texture, while crepes provide a softer, more delicate result.
  • Experiment with flavored cream cheese or add herbs for variation.
